Do you want to prepare a juicy and perfectly cooked steak? This recipe for Air Fryer Steak is a must-try. It’s incredibly simple and absolutely delicious!
When I think about kitchen gadgets that are essential to me, my first thought always leads to my air fryer. Although I only got one a few years back, I can’t picture my life without it now.
As I mentioned, countless air fryer recipes are available. Now, you can use your air fryer to create a steak that is cooked perfectly and full of flavor.

How do you prepare steak using an air fryer?
Honestly, when I first learned that people were cooking steak in an air fryer, I couldn’t believe it! But let me tell you, air fryer steak is amazing. Moreover, it’s very easy to whip up.
To cook steak in your air fryer, simply rub the steak with some olive oil and seasoning. Place it in the air fryer and let it cook for 4 to 5 minutes on each side to achieve medium rare. That’s all there is to it!
What ingredients will you need?
You only need three ingredients:
STEAK:
In this recipe, I used NY strip which is one of my favorite cuts. You can select any steak cut you prefer. Top sirloin or rib eye would work well too. Just ensure that your chosen steak is 1 to 1. 5 inches thick.
OLIVE OIL:
This helps to add a nice brown color to the steak.
STEAK SEASONING:
You can create your own steak seasoning using my Homemade Steak Seasoning Recipe or opt for your favorite blend.
Tips for Air Fryer Steak:
This recipe is quite easy, but I have a few important tips for cooking steak in your air fryer (or any steak, for that matter).
TIP 1:
Allow the steak to reach room temperature before cooking. Take it out of the refrigerator about 20 to 30 minutes before you start cooking.
TIP 2:
Depending on how large your steak pieces are and the size of your air fryer basket, cook one steak at a time if necessary. Avoid overcrowding the basket, as this can lead the steak to steam instead of fry, giving it a gray appearance instead of that desired crispy brown crust.
TIP 3:
Just like with all steaks, it’s crucial to let the steaks rest for a minimum of 10 minutes before slicing. This ensures the juices are evenly distributed, resulting in a juicy steak.
If you’re searching for a side dish to pair with this Air Fryer Steak, I suggest making Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes. Prepare them first, then keep them warm in the oven until the steak is finished. And don’t forget to serve with creamy horseradish sauce for dipping!
