Christmas Jam offers a delightful mix of sweet and tangy flavors from cranberries, strawberries, and sugar. This easy refrigerator jam is perfect for festive cheese boards or as delightful gifts.
If you have hesitated in the past about making jam due to concerns over canning, this Christmas Jam Recipe is just right for you! Canning is not necessary here.
The natural pectin in cranberries means you can skip adding pectin altogether. This makes it an excellent choice even for those who are new to making jam (hello, that’s me!).
I discovered Christmas Jam at a local pumpkin patch’s farm stand. A lady beside me exclaimed, “I buy this every year! It’s absolutely delicious!” That was enough to persuade me.

I purchased two jars, and we quickly enjoyed them all.
As someone who enjoys recreating interesting finds, I noted that the ingredients for this Christmas Jam included strawberries, cranberries, citric acid, and pectin.
I realized it looked easy enough for me to try making it! Now, I’m excited to share this with you.
Let’s go over what you will need for this recipe.
Christmas Jam Ingredients:
This jam is straightforward, using just a few ingredients and no pectin! Since cranberries are naturally rich in pectin, I chose not to add any in this recipe, and it turned out perfectly.
If you’d like to enhance the holiday taste, consider adding a 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon.
CRANBERRIES:
You can opt for either fresh or frozen cranberries.
STRAWBERRIES:
You can use fresh or frozen strawberries that are trimmed and cut in halves or quarters.
LEMON JUICE:
It brings a little acidity and aids in setting the jam.
SUGAR:
This makes the jam sweet but also helps it achieve that thick “jammy” consistency.
Step by Step Instructions:

- Combine every ingredient in a small saucepan.
- Gently mash everything together.
- Simmer until it thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
STEP 1:
In a small saucepan, mix together all ingredients.
Use a potato masher to mash them gently.
STEP 2:
Heat over medium until boiling. Lower the heat and cook for 20 to 25 minutes until thickened to your liking. It should coat the back of a spoon.
STEP 3:
Let it cool down. Store in a clean glass jar in the fridge.
Storage and Leftovers:
Since this jam is not canned, you need to keep it in the refrigerator.
It should last around a month if stored correctly.
