For Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Potatoes, you will require:
Marinade for steak:
Sirloin Steak:
This cut of meat remains tender when marinated and cooked. Tenderloin is also a good option for these steak bites.
Soy Sauce:
Always opt for a lowsodium option to manage the level of salt in the dish.
Olive Oil:
While any vegetable oil can work, I prefer the flavor olive oil adds to the meat.
Sriracha:
A little bit is included to introduce some heat, but feel free to omit it if you do not want any spiciness.
Potatoes:
Baby Potatoes:
Baby Yukon gold potatoes are a great choice, but any small potato will suffice.
Olive Oil:
I personally favor olive oil, but you’re free to use your choice of vegetable oil.
Garlic:
Always choose fresh garlic cloves for the best flavor. Avoid using jarred minced garlic that has been open for a long time, as it can turn bitter.
Italian Seasonings:
This mixture includes dried herbs like basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, and marjoram. If you lack Italian seasoning, feel free to improvise with what you have or create your own using my recipe.
Salt:
This boosts the natural flavor of the potatoes.
Black Pepper:
This is used alongside salt for seasoning the potatoes. You can opt for freshly ground black pepper or preground pepper as you prefer.
How To Make Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Potatoes
This steak recipe is perfect for a fast meal that can be ready in under 30 minutes. Simply cook the potatoes and brown the meat. It’s that easy, and you’ll have dinner on the table in no time!
Marinate The Steak:
The initial step in this recipe involves creating a flavorful marinade for the meat. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, olive oil, and Sriracha. Next, add in the meat pieces and let them rest while you prepare the potatoes.
Cook The Potatoes:
While you let the steak soak in the marinade, begin preparing the potatoes. To do this, in a large skillet, combine the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter, then heat it on mediumhigh. After that, introduce the potatoes and allow them to cook for roughly 8 minutes or until they achieve a nice brown color and can be easily pierced by a fork. If your skillet is small, you can do this in smaller portions. Once ready, transfer the potatoes to a plate and set them aside for now.
Grilling the steak:
As you will use the same skillet for the steak, add the remaining butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning to the pan. Cook this blend for about 30 seconds or until a pleasant aroma arises. Next, lay the steak pieces within the pan in a single layer, reserving any leftover marinade. Cook the steak over mediumhigh heat for one minute without moving it, then flip it and allow it to cook for an additional minute.
Finishing with the potatoes:
Once the meat is seared, pour the saved marinade over the steak and cook it for another minute. Then, return the potatoes to the skillet with the meat and heat until the potatoes are warmed through. Finally, taste the dish and season with salt and pepper if necessary.
Serving and enjoyment.
When the garlic butter steak and potatoes are ready, transfer them to a serving dish. If you wish, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese. Pair it with a salad or a green vegetable such as my Roasted Brussels Sprouts for a complete meal.
Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Potatoes Recipe
Are you in search of a quick yet fulfilling meal that tastes great? Look no further than Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Potatoes! This recipe is perfect for anyone wanting a fast and savory dish.
Total Time:
27 mins
Ingredients
Steak Marinade
1. 12 lbs. of sirloin steak cut into 1inch cubes
⅓ cup low sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
Potatoes
If the baby potatoes are too large, slice them in half.
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons butter
5 cloves garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
½ teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
Instructions
In a mediumsized bowl, combine all components for the steak marinade and mix thoroughly. Let it sit while you cook the potatoes.
In a large skillet, heat the tablespoons of olive oil and one tablespoon of butter over mediumhigh heat. When ready, add the potatoes and cook for about 8 minutes until they are browned and soft. Remove and set them on a plate.
In the same pan, include the remaining butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning. Let it cook for 30 seconds until it smells good. Place the steak in the pan, making sure it’s arranged in one layer. Save any leftover marinade. Leave it alone for one minute, then stir it and let it cook for an additional minute.
Pour the marinade you saved over the steak and allow it to cook for another minute. Return the potatoes to the pan and heat them until they are warm again. You may add salt and pepper according to your preference.
Remove it from the heat and serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley or Parmesan cheese.
Notes
Be sure to use both butter and oil. It is important to blend the butter with olive oil. This prevents the milk solids in the butter from burning and becoming bitter.
Cook the potatoes in separate pots. The potatoes must be prepared first not only because they take more time to cook, but also because the meat needs that duration for marinating.
Avoid overcooking the meat. If you prefer your meat well done, feel free to cook it longer! However, if you like it less cooked, make sure to only sear each side of the sirloin for a few minutes.
When kept in an airtight container or freezer bag, leftovers can remain in the refrigerator for as long as three days or in the freezer for three months.
To reheat, simply place them in the microwave on medium power for around three minutes. Alternatively, you can warm them in a skillet. If the leftovers were frozen, move them to the refrigerator overnight to defrost. The following day, heat them in the oven at 350°F (176°C) for about fifteen minutes.
