This Greek Chopped Salad is fantastic! It’s a filling dish that contains lettuce, olives, tomatoes, red onion, and chickpeas mixed with a creamy feta dressing.
I really enjoy a well-made chopped salad. They are perfect when you want a salad that serves as a complete meal. It’s hearty and packed with delicious ingredients all mixed in dressing.
Now, I’m excited to include this Greek Chopped Salad in my meal lineup. It’s quick to prepare, simple, bursting with flavors, and is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner.
Let’s go over what you will need to prepare it:
Greek Chopped Salad Ingredients:
ROMAINE LETTUCE:
I prefer romaine lettuce for its crispy texture, which adds a nice crunch without being too bitter. However, you can choose any lettuce you like.
CHICKPEAS (GARBANZO BEANS):
Adding chickpeas makes this salad filling enough to be a meal. I used canned chickpeas for convenience, just be sure to drain them well.
KALAMATA OLIVES:
Buy pitted kalamata olives, so you can chop them without worrying about removing the pits.
TOMATOES:
Cherry tomatoes bring a sweet and fresh tomato flavor to the dish.
CUCUMBERS:
I enjoy including cucumber in my salads for a refreshing crunch.
RED ONION:
If you’re concerned about the red onion being too strong, soak it in cool water for about 20 minutes before mixing it in. Ensure that the onion is dry before adding it to the salad.
CREAMY FETA DRESSING:
Feta is a staple in Greek salads, so I thought it would make a perfect dressing for this salad. This creamy feta dressing really enhances the flavor.
BLACK PEPPER:
Use freshly cracked black pepper for a better taste and texture compared to pre-ground pepper.

Step by Step Instructions:
- The essence of “chopped salads” lies in cutting all the ingredients into similarly sized pieces. Other than that, preparing a Greek Chopped Salad is no more challenging than making any other salad.
- Chop the romaine, tomatoes, olives, and cucumbers.
- Combine all ingredients in a large salad bowl.
- Drizzle the dressing on top of the salad.
- Toss everything until the dressing coats all the ingredients.
STEP 1:
Cut the romaine, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions into bite-sized pieces of similar sizes.
STEP 2:
Put the romaine at the bottom of a large salad bowl. Add the olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions on top. Then, add the drained chickpeas.
STEP 3:
Pour the dressing over the salad.
STEP 4:
Use salad tongs to mix everything together, ensuring all the ingredients are coated in the dressing. Finish with fresh cracked black pepper. Serve right away.
I enjoyed this salad as a single serving for lunch. If you wish to make it even more filling, adding some grilled chicken breast would be a fantastic choice.
Storage and Leftovers:
You can prepare this salad in advance, just remember to hold off on adding the dressing until right before you serve it. The salad should be consumed right after it has been dressed.
The Apple Gorgonzola Salad is filled with delightful ingredients such as tart green apples, sweet cranberries, sharp gorgonzola, and crunchy pecans.
